My room is about 23 sqm with an opening behind the sweet spot in the form of an open staircase to the upper floor, then it is an opening out to the hall too. This, together with the room's natural structure and acoustic properties + small akustikfix I made myself allows me to have a relatively large speakers and play at high volume without setting off nodes that nobody wants.
A larger rooms (30-40sqm) with the acoustic properties I have now and I would be in heaven.
