My alternative is RaspberryPi endpoints running very stable software into various DAC’s. Sounds better than my W4S modified Connect, is bit perfect, and works with Roon or any other DLNA source and costs less that $100.
BTW, all my old Sonos stuff shows up in Roon and as long as it does I’ll keep it. The Sonos UI, once sleek and nice, is now a cluttered junkyard.
