Given a few quartering waves off the bow and some headwinds and that 40nm will drop rapidly. I would stick with our 27' C&C MkV which will go for a couple of days on on <15gal of diesel with its 8hp Yanmar single cyl diesel. With any breeze at all we could go out for a week or two on a tank of fuel. Can't beat sails for eco-friendly.

Also, saying it can cruise "without emissions" doesn't really cut it for me. Where does the charge for the batteries come from? Solar cells are fine if the weather is great, but 150sqft of same isn't going to get you anywhere once the batteries are exhausted. Have to fire up that IC engine to get a reasonably fast charge or run the prop(s). Or, if charged from the power grid, even in the majority of Europe they are still 35%, or more, fossil fuel generation. If you want to go somewhere in a boat (or more especially, a ship) you are only really going to do so with either an IC engine or sails. Think it will be a while before we actually get to a practical non-fossil fuel power source on the water (other than nuc).
