My updated and humble system. I’ve been on the fence for some time on whether to upgrade speakers or invest instead on cables/power conditioning/isolation racks.
After a great experience with the Hifi Rose 150B streamer/dac, it gave new life to my 802D2s. So after countless visits to dealer demo rooms, reading experiences and learning from other seasoned AAers, I decided on a full loom of AQ cables (Tornado/Thunder/Blizzards/Water XLRs/RCAs), a Niagara 5000, and a pair of SolidSteel HF-3 gloss black. On order, still waiting on an AQ Robin Hood BiWire combo SC, and few more power and ethernet cables.
Up until last week, my best power cables were AQ entry NRG-2s. Special thanks to W9TR, jdandy (RIP), and Puma Cat for the user experience and educational posts on cables!
Finally able to put the 805D monitors back to use other than surround sound.
My back, arms and legs are not happy (full solo setup!) but my eyes and ears couldn’t be happier! Back to listening……
