I do use a sub with my Sopra 1’s and it is an improvement. While the 1’s are big for a bookshelf speaker and have nice bass, I believe you would find the addition of a good sub setup properly would add enjoyment to the 1’s or any speakers for that matter.
By the way my previous speakers were Wilson Sophia II’s and I have never regretted moving to the 1’s.
