MT10 trade in?
Paired w/ the MA12000, just stick with the MT10.
The looks will grow on you. It’s a fantastic turntable. Complete set it and forget it, perfect for your stated needs.
You can get better performance out of your MT10 by upgrading your phono preamp (assume you are currently using the MC input on the MA12000), upgrading the stock cartridge, platform under the table, peripheral ring clamp, phono cable etc. having said that, the MT10 is great straight out of the box!
Your wife did real good buying you the MT10. As others have said, I’d keep it just for that reason alone!!!
If you feel need to buy a 2nd table, have at it, it’s fun/nice to have 2 setups/2 different cartridges to experiment with. I betcha you will find the MT10 hard to better without spending a lot more money.
I have compared my MT10 directly with a “hot rodded” VPI Scoutmaster + BENZ LPS and rega RP10 Apheta 2 tables, both tables I owned for years. no comparison IMO, the Mc wins.
If you aren’t happy with the sound of the MT10, I’m willing to bet the table isn’t properly set up. It really amazes me how great this table is in my system with stock cart, ring clamp, Stillpoints LPi, HRS shelf, WW interconnect, and MOON 610LP/820S phono preamp. Image1614026304.293183.jpg
