I noticed however that the tweeter on one speaker had become distinctly ‘tacky’ and that micro dust particles were sticking. The tweeter on the other speaker is perfectly fine. There’s no high humidity or dampness in the room. To cut a long story short I used a small piece of lint-free fabric (100% polyester) dipped in methylated spirits and very carefully rubbed the surface of the tweeter faceplate. It solved the problem. No more stickiness or unsightly blotches. Both tweeters look identical again with perfect surfaces. Hope this helps.
