Question: any idea what kind of (Japanese) tube power amplifier could be an alternative to the p-4200?
Or what (Japanese) integrated tube amp would do a fine job on the Scala v2?
Any experience?

Salut jesuisunutopiste, I'm not sure if you have already made some changes to your system?
With your Scalas 92dB you could give a try to the Air Tight push-pull amplifiers: the ATM-1S 2x36W (EL34 tubes), or if you can stretch the budget then the ATM-2 Plus 2x70W (KT88 or 6550 tubes) for a better grip. If you prefer the sound of direct heated triode then consider the ATM-300R, but you should make sure it can drive your Scalas since it produces only 2x9W (fyi my Audion 300B 2x8W amp drives my Sonus Faber Elipsas 92dB without any problem, but what works in my system might not work in yours, depends also on your room size and listening habits). Leben makes the CS-600 2x32/28W (6L6GC/EL34 tubes), excellent integrated amp but maybe not as refined as the Air Tight pieces.
