I was watching some of the Return to Forever Live at Montreaux blu-ray two weeks ago, and I hear about this a couple of days ago. I may pull that BD out and play it all the way through at some point. I saw him live at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and he was really good.
Even though I don't have any of his music except for the aforementined BD, I knew him by reputation. The music world loses another one.
