Just an update.
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and direction. I purchased a Schiit Magni headphone amp and a Loki tone control unit. THE MUSIC HAS COME BACK TO LIFE for me. It's enjoyable and even trilling to listen to music again. It has gone a long way in overcoming my hearing deficiencies in the upper ranges. Thank you all so very very much!
So far I haven't spent much time fine tuning the Loki. I played with it a little at first, but ended up turning up all the frequencies pretty far. It's just so much fun hearing voices with clarity and music with high fidelity again that I haven't been motivated yet to fine tune the sound. What a joy!
