Its not about getting through skin, its all about getting it on your hands and fingers and touching your mouth, nose or eyes. This is how most respiratory viruses are tranmitted, along with coughing/sneezing.

Just so you know, this virus is considerably more lethal than the 1918 Influenza virus; the lethality index for the 1918 Influenza was ~1.8; the lethality index for this virus is 2.5-3, if not greater. This virus is NOT to be treated lightly. People should be super-concerned about COVID-19 and take appropriate measures.
"COVID-19, like the MERS and SARS coronaviruses, likely evolved from a virus previously found in animals. The remaining known coronaviruses cause a significant percentage of colds in adults and children, and these are not a serious threat for otherwise healthy adults."

The common cold is a group of viruses and are upper respiratory viruses. Like the flu, covid 19 is lower respiratory. Regarding "appropriate measures", when going out carry hand sanitizer, do not shake hands in the typical manner. Folks, most people contract flu through carelessness. This is a highly contagious virus but if you get it, you will most likely survive.

Folks probably aren't going to listen to me, but the key is to avoid a significant inoculation and to stay in tip top physical shape. If you get a large inoculation, your body begins behind the 8-ball and you are at a significant disadvantage.

Also if you smoke, vape, drink very much at all, and are in poor overall physical shape, your mortality rate and complication rate will rise.

So it's size of the inoculation, which can be reduced by thorough handwashing and hand sanitizers and avoidance of "crowds"
