I chose the K-01X because I wanted a great cd/sacd player and needed a one box solution which I have been very with! Over the years, I have collected hundreds of SACDs and countless redbook cds, so a spinner was a requirement. For your needs, the D02X may be the way to go, and you can always add a standalone transport in the future if you choose. Either path leads to sonic bliss
