I just replaced GR XLR ICs with Clear, first between dac and pre, then pre-power. Each step brought a noticeable improvement in clarity and "air" and slightly reduced the 'mellowness' that started to feel like lack of resolution in my system. Still on the warm side overall. GR ICs were there for some time but they have to go, Clear is clearly a better cable.
Then I replaced GR speaker with Clear and again similar improvement, but slightly less pronounced as compared to IC replacement, which resulted in a bigger jump in quality.
Is it worth the cost? Well, we don't ask this type of questions. I would say, start with IC and see if you like it first.
