Ref6SE plastic remote

While pleased overall w/ new 6SE compared to the 5SE, I was disappointed to find this “throwback” remote. Not a huge deal, but surprising.

Even the metal ones are pretty cheapo, their faceplate pops off easily, it's barely glued on. But ARC isn't the only company that makes outstanding gear but has a crappy remote. I'd put Esoteric on that list too! |

My ref 6 was supplied with a metal remote. I got it when it was first released. Perhaps they switched to plastic later.

I use a universal remote, so it’s a moot point for me. But is is odd that remotes don’t get more respect. |
Conrad Johnson supplies heavy duty bomb proof metal remotes. I’ve always appreciated that.

For what ARC is charging for their new Ref 6SE, I’d ask for a metal one to replace your plastic one. Wonder if the metal Ref 6 remote would work on the Ref 6SE. I suspect Ref 6 owners who upgrade to the Ref 6SE will be able to use their original remote. |
I had the plastic remote with my Ref5 and later 5SE. The metal remote was an optional extra. My Ref 6 (might be an earlier batch) came with the metal.
I like the feel of the metal one but my placement of gear means the remote never worked for me :D |
My Ref 6 came with a metal remote as well.

Burmester comes with the best remote that I have ever seen.

Esoteric remotes look very nice, but do very little. And my current k01x remote only works if I move it all around the air and keep clicking [emoji848]
