How Do You Clean Your Stylus?

I did damage my Sumiko Blackbird with the Onzow but that was user error.

In part it was because the Onzow was a relatively thick profile and didn’t fit on the platter under the cartridge even when the tonearm lever was raised.

So I had to use my hands to raise and lower the tonearm manually and it eventually damaged the cartridge (lost the bounce and the cart body touched the vinyl surface). I’m guessing some minor but damaging sideways movement.

Now I use the DS Audio one which works the same way but is much slimmer in profile so I can just place it on the platter and use the tonearm lever to raise and lower the arm.

Thank you for this timely and informative thread:thumbsup:. I was nervous about using a brush on my Clearaudio Strad and the Onzo seems to be the perfect solution. So an Onzo zerodust is now on it's way here.

My same combo as well. Never an issue.

I took my TruClean, removed the blutak and replaced it with a piece of zero dust.
