That's why I load my own. With this 'staying in' avoiding the virus I've loaded over 1000rds thus far. Probably load another 500 before I run out of cases.
My local club has the only 600yd range in the state, but we are shutdown. Rifle like this one are not allowed at our club, thankfully. Not only are they destructive to normal targets, if you are shooting one there can be no one else on the line for about 50' in either direction due to the blast from the muzzle brake. Check what is going on in that video to the right & left of the brake when he fires. You definitely don't want be anywhere near that and the noise & concussion from same is worse that it looks. Very uncomfortable and if someone does not have their ear protection in place it is deafening and can cause permanent hearing damage. Not a good thing in our primary sport on this forum. |

That's definitely taking things up a notch.
I belong to a private range here in AZ and regularly take my 6.5 Creedmoor's, 300 Win Mag, and 300 PRC out to 1400 yards on steel and have shot out to 1 mile, so can somewhat appreciate what it takes to shoot out to 2,500 meters and beyond. Our range is open as our 4 shaded long range platforms are at least 20 yards apart and are reserved in 2 hour time blocks, so I can shoot by myself with no one else close. Our AR, PCC, shotgun, pistol bays are 40 yards wide and 50 yards deep and are also reserved for 2 hours by each individual member. I am fortunate to be able to continue shooting during this mess. Photo below from one of the platforms. I had just finished shooting for the day. Barrel is pointed towards the 990 yard target on the hill in the left portion of the pic. Many steel targets to choose from on this platform with the furthest being 1380 yards. https://i.imgur.com/GWhG1Qj.jpg?2 |
