Wireworld Platinum Eclipse 8 speaker cables in the house
I wanted to share my initial enthusiasm with my audition of the WW Platinum Eclipse speaker cables. After a bit of break-in, I’m at a loss of words as to the degree improvement which they have bestowed to my system.
They really excel with well recorded large scale Classical music with their neutral balance, tonal density, and portrayal of instrumental textures with my favorite recordings. They have given massed strings, woodwinds, piano, brass, percussion, and voice new found life. That being said, they are an improvement across the spectrum of all genres of well recorded music. I look forward to auditioning the Platinum interconnects in the near future to see what they add to the mix. More to come. |
Bob... thanks for posting; WW Platinum Eclipse 8 Speaker Cables are my all time favorite, at any price point.

Ivan. Thank you for turning me on to these awesome cables.
They bring my speakers up to a new level of performance which is almost like getting new speakers :music: |
I wanted to add my "2 cents", recognizing that my experience is with a different type of Wireworld cable and at a much lower cost per meter. I purchased from Ivan 10 meter Equinox 8 XLR interconnects for use between my preamplifier and power amps. They replaced Blue Jeans (Belden) XLR cables of the same length. To mix metaphors, what an "eye opener"! Not everyone on this forum can afford Platinum Eclipse cabling, but most can handle the price of Equinox 8s -- for the same length, their price is just 3% of the Platinum's! In terms of price/performance, what they provide for what they cost is astonishing.

In my case, I was going to shoot the money on a couple power cords with “built in power conditioners” for my mono block amps, but after a lengthy phone conversation with Ivan, he suggested I try the WW speaker cables instead and felt that they would offer my system more improvement than those power cords. I was quite surprised and excited as to the extent of sonic improvement which the WW speaker cable yielded in comparison to my SR Sigmas |
To Tony and others: well, I am a bit embarrassed! The Blue Jeans XLR cables I had previously used were based on Canare's L-4E6S, a "star quad" cable, and not the Belden 1800F. Regardless, I think that Wireworld's DNA Helix wiring configuration is a real breakthrough that provides better performance than does star quad.
To RLF: I use Transparent Audio's predecessor to its current Super speaker cable with my Revel Ultimate Studio speakers. I believe they serve me well, and so I have no incentive to replace them in the foreseeable future. However, I did purchase a Shunyata Denali 2000/T (at its closeout price) and three Venom HC power cables, and their inclusion has made a discernible improvement to my overall system. Logically, the Platinum Eclipse 8s would make a further improvement, but at their MSRP, their cost to me would be around $33,000 (before tax) -- making them way too expensive for me. |
Congrats on the new cables and thanks for sharing!
