New Dewalt table saw / Woodworker question
1 Attachment(s)
So, I just bought a new Dewalt DWE7485 8-1/4 inch Table Saw. It has two dust collection ports; the lower (primary) and upper (secondary). Would you just connect a good vacuum to the lower port, or get a Y fitting and use them both?
I bought mine with the stand pictured below. https://www.toolup.com/product-image...10&resizew=510 https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1609034310 |
If your shop vac can move enough air for both connections, use both. If it doesn't do a good job, then just use the lower port. On my European combo machine, I hardly notice when I forget to open the blast gate for the blade guard, but if I forget to open the lower port blast gate, I can see the difference immediately.

While I don't have the table saw, I have many other DeWalt tools that I am extremely happy with. Most are hand tools, but the DWS779 12 IN. DOUBLE-BEVEL SLIDING COMPOUND MITER SAW gets a lot of use.
If you are going to do ripping, make sure you get some good featherboards to make a snug fit and to keep your fingers away from the blade. |

Will fire these and a DW biscuit jointer up shortly to build an oak equipment rack for the bedroom system. Glad it's all stand-up work...my 81-year-old knees would never survive. :D
