Is the Gumby an upgrade that brings the GUNGNIR from Delta-Sigma to Multibit? I always have a hard time figuring out SCHIIT's naming conventions, so just want to make sure I know whats going on here.... :)

Gumby finally arrives!

Gumby is an affectionate term given to the full-blown Gungnir by customers. “Full-blown” means multibit and to some extent, but not necessarily Gen 5 USB.

Exactly, Mike.

Both are easy lexicon for end-users to distinguish the delta-sigma Gungnirs and Bifrost versions from their Multi-Bit versions:

Here is the etymology as it evolved by the gang over at Head-Fi, where Schiit has a sponsored forum:

GungnirMultBit > GUMB > Gumby

Same for the original (version 1) Bifrost MultiBit > BIMB > Bimby. Bifrost 2 is now only available as a multibit DAC.

The TOTL Schiit DAC, Yggdrasil, aka Yggy, was only ever availble as a Multibit DAC.
