Florida Audio Expo

Sheesh! Who’s idea was it to have this on the same weekend as the Miami International Boat Show?

Florida Audio Expo
I am here and it’s a very nice show. Large enough to be worthy of the duration but not so large as to wear you out to see and hear everything. Lots of people but not too many.
Best so far : MBL room worth north of $700K with a one of a kind Reel to Reel from United Home Audio. We all own boom boxes compared to this system. (Except maybe Ivan) |

Nice. Thanks.
That linoleum on the front of that RtR is a nice touch. |
This is my first audio show. I had no expectations nor was I looking to purchase anything. I come away having met some good people who share my interests.
My take away: - $1,000,000 systems sound fantastic - eg MBL - Magnapans with well integrated subs are fantastic. <$10,000 system all in. Geesh. - There is a lot of grey area. Don’t go there. Find that which is clear to you. Run from snake oil even if it has a well known brand. ( not naming names. ) - lots of HIFi available, not so much true Hi End. There is a clear difference. - after Speakers, placement in a room and amps, EVERYTHING else is a tweak. |
