Great...I bought a pair of 803D3s in July! I got a good deal on the gently used store demo models (making room for the D4 series), so I can't complain. It's hard to imagine even more transparency, but I don't think I'll ever find out--my wife wouldn't go for anything more expensive than my D3s!

I did the same with a pair of 802D3s during the COVID lockdown. The price was too good to pass up. It was a bit away from the announcement of the D4s, but I imagine dealers had a fair amount of advanced notice.

The difference between D3 n D4 could b simply and addition of a 0.5 to 1ohm resistor to tweeter to tame brightness.
