This looks like a speaker that will fit, and perform well, in so many rooms.

Jim, HUGE congrats!!

Jim, Congrats again and great write up/pics! You are on point when it comes to TAD speakers being able to put almost anywhere and they will sound great! One of the amazing aspects of the speakers is being able to move around your room and hear multiple "sweet" spots. They are phenomenal speakers and I'm glad you are enjoying them!

the speakers have been opening up wonderfully, but everything took a huge leap today when i installed the WW Silver Eclipse. it's really hard to describe how good this speaker is, even when the speakers and the new cables aren't even close to broken in. More separation, but more coherence, at the same time. Just really fantastic stuff.

Outstanding!

CR-1 New Owner Too
Like Jim, I am a new owner of CR-1's I purchased from Ivan after his Cape Cod party. I was smitten with them and made a deal with Ivan. Unlike Jim, I have been unable to sell my existing speakers, Sonus Faber Amati Homage's. I have had them listed here, as well as Audiobroker.net, and Audiogon. I have lowered my price from $15K to $12K, and still no luck. Since I am holding out that I might find someone like Jim did that will want to pick them up, I have kept them operational in my media room. I don't have room anywhere in my house to store my Amati's(other than the garage), so I have kept the CR-1's in their boxes, unable to listen to them, which now is almost two months! :grumpy: I am beyond frustrated. I have had a couple of low ball offers, which I have refused. I never thought it would take this long to sell a pair of mint Amati's. Any suggestions? I would really love to sell my Amati's and break out the CR-1's. My wife is constantly ridiculing my predicament. Not good!

sorry to hear that. It sounds like a version of hell if you ask me.
the guy that bought my speakers was an incredible part of the story. he really wanted the v 2 802 and had missed on a couple of pairs. so, he paid my asking price within an hour of posting on audiogon on saturday afternoon. he and THREE buddies drove overnight from wisconsin to atlanta and were there on tuesday morning at 9 am. they had a truck, an electrified dolly that made lifting the speakers a breeze, their own banding gizmo for sealing the box as if from the factory, they listened to a couple songs on the speakers and they were in and out in about 1.5 hours. i couldn't have written it up any better. i feel so badly for you, i'd almost buy the homage, but i have all the speaker i'll need for a long time. |
