Bryston CEO James Tanner Talks with Alan Taffel About the Company’s Ownership Change

Since the 1970’s, Bryston of Canada has been a fixture in high-end audio. The firm is famous for its no-nonsense engineering designs and aesthetics, as well as for its industry-leading customer warranties. Originally a producer of analog electronics, Bryston eventually expanded into digital components and even speakers. The results of these forays have been universally praised in this and other audio forums.

Recently, Bryston announced that it is under new ownership. At the same time, it reported that James Tanner, the company’s long-time VP of Sales and public face, would take over as CEO. To understand what led to these changes and what they bode for the future of the company and its customers, I sat down (virtually) with James for an interview.
