UPS (uninterrupted power supply) Options

Hi;

I don't come across a lot of talk about UPS units being used in audio/video systems. With today's systems now revolving around digital media being stored on local home PC's, servers, etc. and most homes having PVR's not to mention homes having gaming consoles as well which have internal drives and often attached external there are a lot of items in use that can benefit from a UPS. Not to mention majority of homes now have a modem and possibly an added network switch.

Do any fellow AA members use UPS units and if so what units do you use and what do you have connected to them? Just curious.

Thanks

I use 2 dozen CyberPower units for my Modems, Routers, Network Switches, NAS, Music Servers, and Kaleidescape movie servers.

Whoa! 2 dozen. This shouldn't surprise me :)

What model, or models do you use Ivan?

Thanks

I have several Panamax MB850 units for my modem, router, wireless access points, network switches, Control4 system components, and music server.

Do you plug your Panamax units directly into the wall or into a power conditioner type unit?

They are plugged directly into the wall. At one point, I had one of the MB850 units plugged into a P10 power conditioner, and that worked well for the Aurender N10 music server I was using at the time.

They all vary depending on the load. I honestly don’t have the time to check, and record each model in play.

Ivan, if I hadn't seen all your gear, I'd say you sound like a collector! :lmao:
