I have been an on and off collector of vintage gear over the years. I'm in the off mode now mostly due to space constraints. I still have some older McIntosh pieces and a B&O linear tracking TT, but that about it. I've found modern gear to just sound better and be less of a maintenance hassle.

One of my systems is vintage - a HH Scott 222C integrated, HH Scott 333 Tuner, Thorens 166 MkII Turntable/Signet TK7E cartridge, and a pair of ads L710 speakers.

I don't like vintage gear at all! Pay no attention to my AA handle! :D

Wow, I certainly wouldn't recommend blowing a 401k on vintage gear. I do enjoy some vintage gear...I think it's my main motivation to move into a bigger place so I can have a dedicated vintage system. There is also the fact that in 50 years you'll still be able to have it repaired, there are no custom ICs that once they die you're SOL.
