venticinque... Welcome to AA!

Thank you for welcome MasterFlu.
I saw later that this link was already posted by Aquarius in New "Futura Amati" tread. As former distributor in Croatia was one of first Sonus faber's international distributors it can be said that we have long "tradition" of enjoining these musical masterpieces. |

Must have meant LuFlu. I've suffered from that, on more than one occasion! |
Hey Tommy,
Thank you for the links you posted. I was going through them on my lunch hour. Beautiful pictures in the articles. I still love my Guarneri Memento's. ~Mike |

Let's say somebody is on the hunt for a small speaker. A question would be; Momento, Evolution or Tradition?
What would you choose? Living in a rural area the nearest dealer is about 250 miles away and making arrangements for a listen would require most of 2 days along with a hotel room. I've got a Primaluna Dialogue HP integrated I love and would like to keep it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bob |
Can't comment on Tradition yet since I have not heard. Judging from the speaker volume it's similar to memento.
I got a hunch Memento will likely sound more refine then Tradition. So it's between Memento and Evolution. Both IMHO are great speakers but very different. Aesthetic wise they both look great but different - one is more traditional then Tradition and one is more current in an evolutional way. They also sound very different and I feel this largely depends on the room you are placing these stand mounts. In a small room setting the Evolution is very balanced and can play a wide genre of music with no issue. The Evolution has a larger volume and driver therefore its fuller and can rock without a sub. The Memento is cleaner and has a slight edge on the highs refinement and when couple with a good sub it can deliver a very balance sound. Between the two I have purchased the Evolution and have enjoyed its reference reproduction for some years now with no regrets. Except with an upgrade on the speaker terminals to top of the line reference silver WBT - that pushes its performance further. You too can do the same on Memento and in fact it's easier on the Memento. They are both legendary speakers and quite honestly which will depends on your preference in sound. Only thing is age difference between the two. With Memento being longer in the market so will the components in the speaker. I think speakers can last a very long time but still a consideration there. If you can find a brand new pair then I think it's not a huge issue. Enjoy! |
I'm very keen to understand the sonic differences between the Amati Futura and Amati Tradition, and maybe locate a review that does a crap shoot between the two?
My recent purchase of a pair of Amati Futuras was fueled by their effortless musical presentation, smooth sound and deep soundstage. I wonder if the Amati Tradition has followed recent trends in speaker design for an even more accurate presentation - say Magico-esque? I'm not totally keen about the inset logo on the top. It looks like a misplaced tweater. And is it just me, or do the Traditions look more like an evolution of the Amati Homage with its design ques and less like an evolution of the Amati Futura? |
It has been a good 6 months since the Homage Tradition line rolled out. Relatively limited industry reviews and even AA posts it seems. Sonus faber losing its appeal??

Homage Tradition
I plan on auditioning Amati Tradition in Houston in a couple weeks with McIntosh gear, same gear I own. Looking forward to the audition. They even have a pair of my Dynaudio speakers if I want to compare to my baseline. Personally, I think the Amati is a gorgeous speaker. It is on my short list.

Homage Tradition
I did not. Couldn’t find time to make it to the dealers place ... maybe next time. I’m curious how they sound but I am now leaning heavily towards just staying with Dynaudio.

The Homage Tradition series is approaching 6 years. Anyone heard any industry news or talks about a redesign or refresh like SF did with the Olympica Novas?

My dealer has an order in for the new Serafinos. Hopefully, I will get to see them before they sell.

Thank you for the heads up! I'm going to watch it now.

Not much different visually from the last generation. Graphite color is now back. Appears improvements were mostly invested in internal bracing, better materials and drivers.
Still my cup of tea! Looking forward to reading initial reviews. |
