Bagels, anyone?
Where do you get the best bagel?
One of grocery chains makes an 'edible' bagel, but Hot Bagels in Northfield or Somers Point make the best bagels we've had anywhere. They even mix their own cream-cheese. Headed there for a bag of same (made in-house fresh this a.m.) as soon as this posts. |

Show off! My wife and I just spent 4 days in the city and had a bagel every morning. They don’t make them like that in South Carolina. |
Only place in SC that makes a real bagel is Greenfields Bagels in Greenville SC, sure we have Brueggers (gag) and a couple other chains here and in Asheville but Greenfields is run by these 2 older ladies from NJ and they do their best to make the real deal and also have all the homemade salads, soups, spreads, liver, tongue, Nova and regular Lox and my all time favorite, smoked whitefish and smoked whitefish salad. They also have good Sablefish! All fish and meats trucked or flown from Westchester and Rockland county NY sources...
They also make a reasonable Bialy |

Best bagel I have ever had was in Montreal. St. Viature bakery. Some of the local grocers carry them too.

I heard but have not tried the latest craze (if it is still in fashion...) a "Cragel" Half Bagel-Half Croissant in NYC where supposedly people spend 45 min in line to get one...

Many years ago when I lived in San Francisco I could not drive past House of Bagels on Geary Blvd. without stopping for fresh warm bagels. Thier lox, bagel and cream cheese is addicting, and their coconut macaroons are fabulous, too. Nothing like that here in rural north Florida. I miss experiences like that.

I was bagel illiterate growing up in rural NC. First time I ever had or had even heard of a bagel was waiting in line for tickets to a Jackson Browne concert in NYC and he sent everyone in line bagels. I’ve had lots of bagels since, but none as good as that.

George.......I'm not much of a sesame seed fan, but I sure can dive into a warm garlic bagel, especially spread with fresh cream cheese. YUM!

Been wheat and carb-free for a while now, not a choice; but out of necessity, and damn, I want to sink my teeth into a toasted bagel, dripping with butter. Then, move on to your bagel, Dan! Killing me guys. Quick, someone start a pizza thread now! [emoji13]
