Anyone got the cornwall iv?

Just wonder ing if any folks have auditioned or brought them? What do you think of them?

BuffaloBill 05-18-2020 07:50 PM

I think very highly of them.

gtubes 05-19-2020 07:20 AM

Several YouTube reviews out already on these.

ATC2 05-19-2020 11:47 AM

I would love to be able to hear them at home...

You have the perfect McIntosh audio gear to compare the Klipsch Cornwall IV horn to the Harbeth thin-wall cone. Just be prepared, you will go from the living room to the recording studio.

Do i loose resolution if i go from B&W CM10 S2 to a cornwall iv?

Formerly YB-2 05-27-2020 06:37 AM

If there is one thing that can be said about horn speakers with their very high sensitivity is that they resolve as well as any speaker made. They, along with some electrostatic speakers, are the kings of resolution.
I'm still on the fence between the CW IW & Forte III. Decisions, decisions.......

InVinoVeritasty 06-19-2020 07:27 PM

I like them very much. I am particularly impressed with how good they sound at low volumes.

What are you driving your CW IVs with?

I don't own them. I spent a morning auditioning them, with a MA352.

richardallred 06-20-2020 02:51 PM

Just received a pair on Friday Haven’t hooked them up yet

Bought them for a vintage system I’m putting together. Waiting on Sansui Ba 3000 to get fixed

richardallred 06-20-2020 02:51 PM

They look really good

n_brio 07-10-2020 03:46 PM

richardallred-> how does they sound compare to sonus faber?

richardallred 07-10-2020 08:06 PM

Brighter, but good. You should listen before you buy.

Formerly YB-2 07-11-2020 05:49 AM

How many hours do you have one them when you say 'bright'?

BuffaloBill 07-11-2020 01:40 PM

vintage, realistic and dynamic and void of distortion.

I have a pair I custom ordered from Klipsch in Indian Rosewood, I’ve been trying to upload pics but it won’t let me

richardallred 07-29-2020 07:27 PM

They are in a 2nd system. I would guess I have between 50 and 70 hrs. Still bright and a bit lacking in bass

What do you think of their sound?
What amp are you using to drive them?
You have to be a "subscriber" in order to post pic's.

ATC2 10-08-2020 08:47 AM

This may sound like a silly question but, if I’ve heard and liked the Forte and I’ve heard and loved the La Scala.
will I also like the Cornwall’s?
My local dealer has the first two but for some odd reason not the Cornwall. I loved the La Scala however besides the big jump in price they’re kinda overkill for my room.

richardallred 10-08-2020 06:43 PM

Im driving mine with 2 MC 2301's

They are finally broken in, they are not Strads, but I can live with them

LOL

And thennn....

Tom R. 10-11-2020 10:13 PM

Could someone who has the Cornwall IVs comment on how they handle classical music? I've watched and read the reviews of them that I can find but this aspect is usually not addressed. One person said, "Just don't play a string quartet on them." Is that useful advice?

Thanks.

Have they mellowed? I've always found Klipsch to be a bit fatiguing after a while.

richardallred 10-17-2020 08:03 PM

Either they have or I’m getting use to them.

Smp 04-30-2022 01:01 AM

Has anyone compared the Cornwall IV’s with DeVore Orangutan 0/96s ? Amplification is First Watt J2 and Pass Labs XA25.

Would appreciate your opinions...........thanks.

Richard - perhaps you need more power. :naughty:

Seriously, I'm interested in CW IV owners' thoughts on listening at low levels. My listening is primarily at sub-80db, which is pretty quiet by most folks standards. I know the CW IVs will play loud, but do they produce a great sound at moderate-to-low levels? Thanks for your input.

Deereguy 11-03-2022 07:17 PM

I have a pair of Cornwall IV's. It turns out they are serial numbers 1 and 2. As my wife likes to say they fill the room with sound.
