HDMI cable between PerfectWave SACD and DirectStream DAC. Which is best?
 

I tried to wade through the posts on PS Audio’s website, but gave up! I am hoping that my fellow owners here can steer me in the right direction.

The general consensus on that forum if money is no object is the AQ Dragon 48 but since you seem to be a fan of Chord cables I would look first at the Chord Epic. There was also one of the very highly thought of RAL cables for sale there.

I use 3 Audioquest Firebird 48 HDMI cables on my Grandioso stack. That is the next level down from Dragon 48, a few hundred dollars less and identical except that the ground wire on Dragon 48 is PSS Silver and on mine is is very high grade copper with silver. I don't see how that makes a difference for pure data transfer. Not worth the AQ destination pricing upcharge IMHO.

A good friend is using a TUBULUS Argentus HDMI/I2S between his transport and DAC also with great results from what he told me.

Yes, SCAudiophile, I was in contact with TUBULUS recently and thought that I might try that cable.

FYI....i received confirmation that the TUBULUS Concentus, and probably the other 2 offerings are wired specific and optimally, to the needs of I2S, so they are not full HDMI cables OOTB. They do make full HDMI according to what I was told but it could be specified as a custom build.
