My son ... A budding vinyl aficionado???

I think I created a vinyl lover. My oldest kid is in graduate school at Clemson University.. While at home his Chrismas break he invited a couple of his friends over to shoot pool, drink beer and play vinyl. The morning after I found this collection amongst my vinyl. ...AND this is my high tech kid (also my musician son) who always laughed at my albums as being old school.

aND the other son wants my old dual Tt... I love the idea that my sons appreciate analog.

The vinyl resurgence still amazes me....I ran into Barnes and Noble the other day and there must have been at least 10 people going through the vinyl section and not one person in the CDs. It's still kind of weird to me.

I think my TT has a larger a presence than my old cd player. The boys like coming down here in the basement when I am listening to my albums. It is kind of weird thinking that both of them really no longer live in my house, they just pass through from time to time and occasionally sleep here.

When Ryan was 4 he said "Dad, could you play one of those big black CD's? " :)
For Christmas he gave me Brothers by the Black Keys. Great album!

I'm not surprised by the vinyl revival - people respond positively to good sound. Doesn't even have to be high fidelity.
I currently have free trials to streaming services from Apple and Amazon. Love the variety.
But I just can't listen to them for over an hour without getting pissed off and edgy for no apparent reason.
For me something in these streaming services is causing bad juju at a subconscious level.

Vinyl or good digital doesn't do that at all.

This is great. Earlier this month I was at a friends holiday party, and their teenage son and I spent most of the evening talking about vinyl. He has some new titles, but really likes digging for the used vinyl.

My son bought a record for me as a joke when he knew I no longer had a TT and couldn't play it. Now three TT's latter for me I still can't get him off of digital music. I am sure I will be able to bring him over to the dark (vinyl) side in the future. It will just take time. Since he is 8 hours away he doesn't listen to my system very often.

This is just great Joe. Legacy passes onto the next generations whether they like it at first or not :) :) :)
