Grounds for Sculpture

We spent yesterday at the Grounds for Sculpture on the NE edge of Trenton. Cannot recommend it too highly. We arrived at ~10 a.m. and spent two hours wondering around before an outstanding leisurely lunch at Rats (olives, bread & wine to start, seafood salad and moules frites for Karen - was plenty as we used a second basket of their excellent bread to sop up the moules sauce, so no dessert), the restaurant over-looking the pond, Monet bridge and a few of the art objects. Spent another two hours wondering the grounds, inside & out before heading home. We will return this fall. The difficult decision will be whether to pack a lunch and eat on the grounds or have another lunch at the most enjoyable Rats.

Glenn.......That is a beautiful place to spend the day. Lunch sounded tasty, too.

Looks like a beautiful place.

Yes....... the picture with Karen is actually a piece of art by Seward Johnson with chairs to sit in. Did not post any pic's of the other art as their website does an excellent job of presenting same. Karen & I agreed that we prefer the Grounds for Sculpture to Longwood Gardens (also excellent and south of Philadelphia) as a venue to spend the day wondering around, though one cannot go wrong with either (or Tyler Arboretum).

I live about 40 minutes from here, been meaning to check this out. Nice review.

Been there about 3 years ago and we need to get back. Going to Tyler as soon as the leaves start to change. We go to Longwood just for the exercise and the fountains with music show.

Great pictures! Have not been there in a long time... miss that area. Some hidden gems in Trenton for sure.
