Neeo (from CES 2016)

I came across this very good looking remote solution. It has a sleek remote
control and a base station with 360 degrees infrared coverage. The base
station can work with the remote or with a phone app.

It has a broad compatibility for units dated back 10 years and if the unit
is not in the database, they will work to add it.

Sal.......I could probably learn to use it in 15 minutes but it would take me a year to get Marlene up to speed on it.

Dan, so Marlene uses your systems a lot? My wife is scared to touch anything (which
is good) and she limits herself to use the Oppo to play videos for the girls (and that is
already enough :) ).

My room is not a double duty, but triple duty: is 2-channel, HT and office all at once.
So you can imagine that sometimes I need to control quite a few things. This remote
may fit the bill, because for my older gear, I don't have a remote where an universal
one could learn from. I'd just need to send my request to Neeo so that it can be added.

Sal.......No, Marlene won't touch my audio system at all, even with encouragement. I was speaking of controlling a satellite receiver and television. After many years of guidance I still get called to solve satellite remote control issues fairly regularly. I don't think there is enough time left in my life for training if I were to introduce a new remote into my home.

I've been following this as well as the Savant remote for a few months now. The Savant will offer voice commands. Don't know when we will see them as both have missed their release dates by a wide margin.

And here I thought voice commands were for your significant other. :D

Ironically, that's why I'm looking at the Savant. It might just be the one remote my wife can operate.
