South Lake Tahoe

Is being evacuated due to an out of control fire. I think Golucid lives in the area.

Fires out west this year have been crazy bad. Hopefully everyone gets out of the way and is safe.

Just left Yosemite after a week. No smoke there yet, but it is a huge tinderbox. Only saw one fall running and the Merced river is a barely moving stream.

The snow pack in 2020- 2021 was way below normal. One of the driest winters on record. La Nina! :icon_thumbsdown:

Apparently, 2017 was a 1 in 1200 year drought event for the area and this year will exceed even that.

Yup. The smoke and fires were epic this year.

Fires are now ‘normal’. Thinking back to the Angora fire of 2007 to present. Each year worsens. PG&E fire starters as well as arsonists are not helping matters.

I was not evacuated, I did, however, dialog with my insurance agent a great deal!

Welcome back Golucid. Good to hear you were not directly impacted by the fires.
