Installing dedicated lines. Have a question
I'm going to be installing dedicated lines for my system. I figured since I am running a new line, why not install two lines- one for the front end components and one for the amp? My question: If I run two lines, do I need to have them both on the same phase of the main panel or one from each?
Thanks in advance. |
Same phase. If you have lighting dimmers try to use the opposite phase that they are on.
|
Most definitely on the same phase, otherwise this will cause grounding issues, especially if your equipment is two wire.
|
Thanks! That was my impression. FWIW, I do not use any dimmers in my home..
|
Yikes! I have a home chock full of dimmers. Is this an issue I should address? What exactly should I tell the electrician?
For a bit more background--all of my components except my subwoofer are plugged into a QKore/QBase, then one cable into the wall. Please advise |
I went with 3 lines -
a. power amplification b. analog/line components c. digital components from the same phase. |
