Our Newest Tube Sponsor on AA!

Please join me in congratulating Bob aka "Vintage Tube" as AA's Official Tube Vendor.

Bob, will be able to provide BNIB tubes at remarkable savings only to AA Subscribers.

I have personally purchased tubes from Bob as well as many others; his service, speed, and pricing can't be beat.

I'll turn it over to Bob now!

Cohibaman 08-07-2017 04:31 PM

Sweet!

The Lost Bears 08-07-2017 04:37 PM

I do use a lot of tubes in my system.

Stahle 08-07-2017 04:49 PM

Good to hear!

vintage_tube 08-07-2017 05:16 PM

Thank you Ivan  -- glad to be back providing tubes to the AA community at a greatly reduced price from what many have seen from the SF site and tube outlets. As like a number of years ago, I do not sell anywhere else but AA.

For starters, the following tubes will be available:

Gold Lion, Gold Pin:
12AX7/ECC83/B759
12AT7/ECC81/B739
12AU7/ECC82/B749
6922/E88CC
KT88 (Gold Pin not available)

Tung Sol:
KT120
KT150

The other brands that are available are ElectroHarmonix (12AT7/12AX7/12AU7/12BH7/6922/6H30PiE) and Tungsol (12AT7/12AU7/12AX7/6550/6L6G/6L6GC/EL34B and 7581). These tubes require prepayment as they are special order and not stocked).

I will offer CONUS & International USPS Priority/insured service.

CONUS USPS Priority Mail 2-Day Large Flat Rate Box: $20.00 (caveat that with --- if you order 2, 4, 6, 8 each 12 volt tubes, we can work out a reduced shipping price).

International shipments because of the variants involved, will be exactly as I am charged.

CONUS shipments will be made as quickly as possible; next day being 99.9% certain.

International shipments because of additional customs paperwork will be shipped every Tuesday.

To start off, for the month of August 2017 only offering Matched KT88 Gold Lions at $89 per pair ($44.50 each) and Matched Tungsol KT120 at $46.00 each and KT150 at $75.00 each. Beginning 01 September 2017, matching will be an additional $1.00 per tube.

Best to all & PM if interested and will initiate a quote.

Bob

Bob.......Good to see you back in the tube business on AA.

mtroo 08-07-2017 11:04 PM

Bob,
Congratulations. I don't see a "sponsor" banner at the bottom of the screen.

Tim... not all Sponsors have, or need a website. ;)

Glad to see you back in the game, Bob! I remember buying Gold Lion's from you for my old C2300 several years ago right here on AA! Loved them.

From 02/14/2013:

Bob!!! Holy cow! I got the tubes today and decided to pop them in (my dad didn't seem to interested so I didn't wait for him to arrive

I honestly have a hard time believing in some of this "snake oil" and hocus pocus on what makes a difference (wires/power cords/equipment feet etc), but I have to say...this was a HUGE DIFFERENCE. It's like a whole different animal. A "Gold Lion", if you will.

I'm kind of shocked...I wonder why the don't jack up the price a hundred bucks and pop those in from the factory? It is a different sound, maybe it's not in line with the McIntosh factory sound.

Now I've only listened to a few songs of course, but my immediate impression is that a veil has been lifted. Much more presentable soundstage width and depth. It does, however, seem to pump up the bass and treble a little on the ends of the spectrum. I don't know if that's to be expected. But regardless, everything is more articulate.

Question: Do you think they mellow a little after they burn in? I almost want them to...just a tiny bit. It is kind of bright with my 802's. I can't believe that one guy on the forum was saying they are "muddy". No way.

Marc

Best Sir,

Bob

Take your time -- when you're ready, let me know the type and quantity and I'll be glad to give you a quote.

I do not know anyone with a MC275 (or any amp really) who have said the GL's took the amps sonics backwards. Just sayin':smoking:

Bob

Have ordered the Maximatcher Preamp 2 tester w/the A9J adapter (to test among other tubes -- the 6922's).

So, with that and having a Maximatcher Power Tube Tester and a back in the day, Heathkit TT-1A; matching tubes will be another guarantee.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Thanks everyone -- and Dan; to this day, I can vividly recall us sitting on the floor in your studio room and breaking out the Heathkit TT-1A & introducing you to the Gold Lion 12 volt tubes.

Best to all,

Bob

Bob.......I remember that day, too, and how impressed I was with your Heathkit TT-1A tester. Since that time, I purchased both the Maxi-Matcher 2 and Maxi-Preamp 2 tube testers. Those are very nice tube testers. Your tube matching option will be appreciated by all.

Processed a few orders today -- will be in USPS channels before 11AM today. Running low on Gold Lion Gold Pin equivalent 12AX7's, but don't fret --have a $9K order coming in Friday (240 tubes) to satisfy the hunger.:eatndrink:

Thanks to those who are recipients (should be delivered NLT Saturday).:music:

No interest yet from anyone who can use the KT120 or K150's (Platinum Matched). The KT150 is the King Kong -- 70W plate dissipation which is 10W's more than the KT120.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Guys,
Bob is the real deal on this stuff. Easy to deal with and provides updates in a timely fashion. If you are on the fence, go for it, you will not regret it. Not to mention his prices are excellent.

Yesterday I received 28 KT-88's, 10 12AT7's and 11 12AX7A's from Bob.

That's a boatload of tubes, folks! Enough to do 3 MC 2301's, an MC 275 and a C500t.

All arrived safe and sound due to a great packing job.

Now the fun begins!

The recipient was overseas when the order was placed & wanted them delivered when he was available to receive them on the west coast (Monday, the 28th). Didn't want them Saturday nor Tuesday -- quite adamant they be delivered Monday, 28th. I was following the postal chain and saw they were delivered this morning & confirmed they are in his amps & :music:.

Best Sirs,

Bob

Great deal on a MC275 Gold Lion refresh I’ve been enjoying this evening. You help me rock Bob!

Deereguy 10-02-2022 04:29 PM

Great option to have.

I will be contacting Bob as I would like a set (4)of NOS 7591's for my Fisher amp. New member, don't have 10 posts yet to be able to send a PM.

W9TR 10-02-2022 07:32 PM

Bob left the AA forum four years ago. I’ve lost touch with him.

Audiophilehi 10-02-2022 08:19 PM

I sure miss Bob’s contributions. Hope he’s doing well.

Since acquiring a Baltic 3 I am in the market for a reliable tube dealer. Is there any recommendations? Do we have someone here?

Doug… we don’t have one at this time, but I am looking. Personally, I buy mine from Tube Depot.
