I can personally attest to how good the CR-1s sound with TAD electronics.

Or Technical Brain, which you can't buy in the U.S.

I think that would be a fine choice. The upfront nature of the CR-1's and a slightly warmer nature of the Atlas amps should be perfect. If you decide to add subs, the Atlas has built-in crossover function.
