Dual Rythmik F12G's paper cones should do nicely or check out the 15 inch offerings.

Thanks for the suggestion. Those look great! And seem promising. …especially the 15” variant.

Try Craig’s set up methodology. Then get a second sub of the same variety. I am less worried about which sub model than the placement, set up method and then two - which I find to be much much better than one.

Absolutely

It’s all about equal pressurization.

Yes, 2 is better than one. Especially if you have the JL Audio CR-1 to aid in their setup.

Agreed, the highest x/o point I use is 40hz. The majority are even lower.

I also agree that 130hz is way to high for the Fathom. I feel the Fathom’s best work is done below 50hz. Or as suggested here, 40hz.

Which is why it pairs so well with my B&W 800 D2. Because my 800 D2 produce all frequencies well even down to 40hz. Whereas my experience with the Venere 3, no matter how I set them up, still lack volume below 100hz.

So, asked another way, my original question could also be…

What can I do to get back the lost mid-bass & bass frequencies my Sonus Faber Venere 3 aren’t producing that my B&W 800 D2 are? (when compared as 2.0 channel systems, both systems without subwoofers)

Unfortunately, upgrade.

Upgrade Veneres or add a second sub and JL Audio CR-1 crossover. Locate the subs next to each speaker and integrate from there.

I have no experience with the Venere but am not sure why they have so little energy below 100Hz.
