Rotel Michi
I wasn’t sure where to start this thread, but Rotel being made in China this seemed fitting.
Has anyone had a chance to get their hands on the new Michi yet? 50 pound P5 preamp $3,999 http://www.rotel.com/product/p5 http://www.rotel.com/sites/default/f...t/P5_Front.jpg 132 pound S5 stereo amp 500x2 $6,999 http://www.rotel.com/product/s5 http://www.rotel.com/sites/default/f...S5%20Front.jpg 130 pound M8 mono amp 1,080 8 ohms / 1,800 4 ohms $6,999 http://www.rotel.com/product/m8 http://www.rotel.com/sites/default/f...M8%20Front.jpg |
Rotel is really moving up the price curve with this line.

Chinese High-End Audio???

I like the look of the gear in general but not a huge fan of the front panel meter/graphic. I would prefer a cleaner look but I guess they need something to stand out.

My dealer in Indianapolis has Michi. I've heard the pre-amp, stereo amp and mono blocks. They are quite good and impressive to look at. It needed quite a bit of break-in before sounding its best, then it became very smooth and detailed. Rotel has used this name (Michi) before and always for their best efforts as a high end brand. Huge performance for a reasonable price!!!

Got very good reviews so far over here (The Netherlands, Germany).
The DAC of the pre was highly praised. |
Rotel was a stepping stone for me into mid-fi that lead me to McIntosh. My local dealer carried both brands. I was always pleased with my Rotel gear.

Is there at least a theoretical chance of a new Michi cd-player?

Far cry from when I wanted an RA1062 badly and thought 700 was a crazy amount of money
