Plinth Installation

Here are the pics of the new plinth installation. The improvement of my bass is remarkable.

The plinth is made of X material with the new Acoustic Diodes for the feet. It has made a remarkable improvement in my bass. I have been able to eliminate the use of the phase on the crossover. It is now set to phase 0 degrees. In doing a low frequency sweep, the 40 Hz hump is amazingly gone. I really can't believe it. There is a slight shelve up on the 31, 25, and 20 Hz warbles. I never heard a 30Hz or below note I didn't like. The 20 Hz is now as firm as the 25 and 30 Hz. How does it sound? Incredible! I was listening to the Phil Collins BR Live in Montreux 2004. The drums sound like bombs going off at high volume. I am very pleased.

Best

Pete, thank you so much! These amps are for their size remarkably powerful. They are true monsters and easily handle the XVX and Thor. Soon they will be flanked on either side by the new MC3500 MkII's.

JoeN, thank you! I should have listened to Ivan and others on the website about getting the Thor on a suitable platform. It was expensive but I would have not had the Acoustic Diodes if I had done it earlier.

p.s. Now I'm waiting for my new MC3500 MKII's for my XVX.

You have an awesome system. Mine is about finished. I’ll post pics of the installation later. Unfortunately, I don’t have a separate room. But it will still play. :music:

Does anybody want to buy some rubber mats? They are for sale. I'm sure Ivan won't object.

In general, I have approximately zero interest in system pics. But every time I see your system...WOW!

Do you have a cat? I am available for house sitting...

Peter, I really thank you for that compliment. Coming from you it means a lot. I have worked extremely hard on my system. I have appreciated Ivan's and others advice (like Marc) on the necessity of the best spiking and getting my Thor off my floor. I honestly never would have believed the difference this plinth has made in the sound of my system. The bass has a tautness/density it previously did not have. I hear notes I never heard before. The system has a dynamic range that in my room is unlimited. There is no compression at all. Again, I appreciate the compliment.

Could you adopt me as an Italian child? :D

Seriously, I think you have one of the best systems in the AA community, along with Ivan of course, otherwise, it bans me if I don't put it in, ehehehe.

It is thanks to people like you that new audiophiles enter this beautiful world today!
In fact, in addition to buying fantastic products, share your achievements with photos and detailed comments, and all this, let me tell you, is fantastic!
