That picture looks like a professional glossy magazine picture.
Well Done !!!

Very nice setups, everyone. I am looking at joining this club soon. Does anyone have the Sopra No 2s in a large room, like 700 Sq ft-ish? How do they sound. The No 3s would be too large, I'm afraid.

JetJock 03-10-2018 11:08 PM

My Sopra2 are in a large open ceiling townhouse style room with a loft directly over the speakers. Sidewalls are too far away to cause reflections.
Being a Townhouse, the distance from my listening seat isn’t the best setup.
The Sopra 3 would be great but I sit too close for the added height of the tweeters.
I sit about 8.5’ away with the speakers 42” from the wall behind.
Surprisingly I found the speakers sound their best with very little toe-in.
My room with the dining room is probably 1000sq’ The high ceilings add to the cubic ft.
The room can support spl of 98db with my Sopra2 very nicely.

moonhawk 03-10-2018 11:12 PM

Cool, thanks!

My Sopra 3's also in white. Luckily I had room to pull them away from back wall, I feel they really benefit from the space around them a lot.

Been driving my new Diablo Utopia IIIs in hot chocolate lacquer for a little more than a month with a simple Ayre stack of C-5xeMP, KX-5 Twenty, and VX-5 Twenty. I have a small 10 x 12 albeit dedicated listening room.

They were incredible out of the box but now are heavenly.

Red Focal Sopra 3s

Audition in progress, just done auditioning preamps (Benchmark LA4 and PrimaLuna Evo300, now awaiting delivery of the Hegel P30) :music:.

Any suggestions on DACs and streaming source would be much welcomed, but really happy with the Sopra 3s, works very well for my 45sqm room.

Tidal on PC->Topping D90 -> PrimaLuna Evo300 -> Pair of Michi M8s -> Red Focal Sopra 3 / high level connection to REL 212/SE sub

Beautiful speakers!

I have two of the REL 212SE subs and love them.

I just purchased the Cary DMS600 and the DAC in that unit is amazing. I am really enjoying the item and things are coming together very nicely for me music wise now!

These Sopra's are beautiful! Do you lose the soundstage if the Sopra's are closer together?

Here are my Focal Electra 926 towers. Phenomenal sound. These retailed for about $4,200 from my research and were made from around 2001 - 2009. Weigh about 100lbs each. Very tall and definitely make a statement in the room. Very deep and a pure joy to look at to boot!! They are beside my KEF 207 speakers in a few pics.

I recently made a deal with my local dealer to take my Sopras on trade for their floor model Scala Evos. Very happy with purchase.

My system was just installed today by the great team at Overture in Wilmington, Delaware. Focal Scala Evo IIIs powered by two McIntosh MC3500 Mk2s, being fed from a McIntosh C2700 and an Estoteric N-01XD through Clarus Crimson cables throughout. Today was just Day 1 but so far I am a very happy camper.

Nice speakers.
I recall when these were introduced at the NYC show. They were such a hit that there was a line all day to get into the room to listen to them. We did not wish to spend out one day at show standing in line so did not get to see or hear them. We did get to meet Dan D'Agostino (& his son) and see their first FBI, which was only the complete chassis with no guts in it, and had a beer in the lobby with Richard Vandersteen. Both were very pleasant.
