Viper ETron Vs. New Delta NR and Venom NR?

I'm starting to get the bug again, and am wondering if anyone has any comparisons between the Viper ETron, Delta NR and Venom 10NR?

Power system:

I have 1 Viper 20amp going into my Venom PS8, along with two Viper 15amps going to my McIntosh C2600 and MC8207 respectively. Everything is in a dedicated circuit/panel using Shunyata outlets and wired 10 gauge. My amp is plugged straight in, while the pre-amps are going to the PS8 using a defender.

My goal is to get some low level noise out of my system that is coming in off the grid. I'm not opposed to getting rid of the PS8 and looking at another Shunyata distributor but that may break the budget at the moment.

Was thinking about using Delta or Venom NR's on the Amp and PS8, or some combination of those. I also want to replace an old Copperhead that I have running to a Marantz AV8802A in the process.

I might also consider the Venom NR10's on my REL S5's in place of the current Venom HC's.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Venom NR V10s across the board would give you a substantial improvement in dynamics and reduced noise level.

Keep the the Venom PS8. It is a great power distributor and when used in conjunction with NR power cords will give you about 30-40 dB in noise reduction. Get the power cords and then determine if you are happy with the result. After that, if you still want more, consider getting a Delta D6 power conditioner. But I think you will be quite happy the improvement that the V10s provide.

Thanks so much for the advice, Caelin! I will reach out to my dealer tomorrow.

One quick question: Would the Delta be a vast improvement over the Venom?

Others have extensively written about their experiences in comparing the Venom NR and Delta cables. PumaCat, Jim and other have threads about this. Please look those up.

We design model levels in such a way to ensure that you don’t have to scratch your head or ass to tell the difference between levels. It is my believe that spending 50-100% more on a level Up product should always be immediately obviously. If that’s not the case then why build it in the first place.

Will do, and again, thanks!

We are in the middle of a blizzard here today, so I had a chance to follow up on PumaCat and Jim's reviews on the NR cables as Caelin suggested in his reply.
Excellent reviews and information, gents!

Thanks!

A good cost effective power cord system would be Venom NR V10 for all components and a Delta NR for the PS8. Since all current flows through the power distributor cable, all of the components get the benefit of the Delta NR cable.

I'd like to expand on Caelin's comment here with my own experiences, if I may.

In the decade I've been using Shunyata power distribution products (including power cords), I've consistently found that the most important power cord is the one that powers the distributor.

I think Caelin's suggestion to use a Delta NR for the PS8 and NR-V10s for components is an excellent one, and would provide the most "bang-for-the-buck".

Given all the info, this is the conclusion I've come to, also. Thanks for the guidance and excellent service!

I appreciate the input, Puma Cat! I think this will be the move for now, especially given the value proposition.

For reference: I dove into power cables and distributors with a healthy amount of skepticism given that my career (25 years plus) is in the recording and mastering field. Couple that with teaching those topics in higher ed, well, you get the idea. In general, most of what we do with cables in this hobby is hotly contested in large proportions in the pro circle, save a few that have "seen" the light so to speak.

My local dealer sent me home with a "brand x" upgrade cable along with a Shunyata cable (my original Copperhead) years ago. An electrician friend of mine and I did a shoot out on my system that evening. Our ears told us everything we needed to know about any supposed opinions or stigmas we had :-)

I can't wait to work these into my system! Thanks again for the help in deciding.
