I subscribe to the magazine (which I like) but not the vinyl package. I suspect that, like the old Columbia record clubs, the quality may not be on a par with other sources, and at $150/year for 4 albums, it hardly seems a bargain when there are so many great Blue Note reissues available for less.

$37.50 per title is not out of line by any means, provided the releases are high quality pressings.

Are there any details on who presses them and the provenance of the source?

Prices aren't crazy, no, but current Blue Note Tone Poet releases are $31 and Blue Note Classic series is $22. You'd think for making an annual commitment the price might be a little less.

Its not the quality of the pressing that worries me as much as the unknown music.

Yes, that would be a concern. Not a fan of someone else deciding what they want to send me.
