Adona Rack on the House

After many years with my Salamander Rack I decided to upgrade. My main goal was to improve the visual aspect hoping to remain neutral in its SQ impact. I decided on an Adona rack made a few hundred miles south of me in the Palm Coast of Florida.

My choice was an Eris 5C with 36” posts. Quick note, when you purchase an Adona shelf. The post length is your choice. You can have it any length, within reason, that you want.

Creating a drawing is the best way to identify what length you need. Paul at Adona will help you along the way. Mine was delivered in a few weeks and arrived in 4 boxes. Five shelves are pretty heavy.

It took about an hour and a half to unbox and construct it. It is made very well and the mechanics are self explanatory and well thought out.

Can’t say my system sounded better after installing it but it has never sounded better.

Very happy with the overall result.

Yes, Adona offers significant bang for the buck. I’m surprised you didn’t hear a difference though. Are all of those shelves adjustable?? Mine are not (which I regret).

Thanks Ivan!

Jim, the bottom and top shelves are fixed. The 3 in the middle are adjustable. Getting them level take some patience.

The Adona’s are great looking racks.......the Timbernations look good and are well built, but my system would look great on a double Adona. Nice.

Another congratulations, Craig. I’ve been eyeing Adona racks for quite some time, feeling like they are a great value for the money. I was a little surprised by your observation, though. Kind of hoping there’d have been a bit more to hear with respect to the change. You can just never tell with these things, I guess.

It’s just too hard to compare the SQ when there was an hour in between. I don’t trust my memory to really comment.

It looks great and as I said, my system (still) sounds great. I am pleased with it.

I'm with Craig here,...15+ years owning AV45 series here. After an hour or more of lugging gear and racks around, taking down, putting up, cleaning, etc...I suggest it's pretty much impossible to (truthfully) compare.

Time is the ultimate test as are volume levels in room, inducing vibration into the rack or floor while playing and hearing no impact in soumd quality. They just work...
