Those are amazing shots. What source do you use for the lighting?

Stephen, very nice watches & pictures  I'm also into vintage watches :D
Do you know where I could buy those very nice looking leather straps? Thanks! |
May I suggest a light experiment for you?
Get a Philips SDW-TG GX12-1 825 MASTER MINI 50W EEK, and connect it through a Philips - HID-AV C 35 - 70/S CDM 220 - 240 V 50/60Hz ballast. Then lower the power delivery switch. Put everything in a HID parabolic reflector. Instant golden glow. |

The straps for the first couple photos are from Halios, the watchmaker, and not available without buying a Halios watch. I've encouraged Jason Lim of Halios to sell the straps separately, as they're wonderful, but it hasn't happened yet. The strap on the Dan Henry chronograph is a Herren Marke, from here in the States. It was a small, one-man business, but I don't think he's making straps any more. Regarding recommendations for leather straps, you can check out these sites in the USA: Crown and Buckle: https://tinyurl.com/z554uskk Hodinkee (whom you probably already know): https://shop.hodinkee.com/collections/straps Worn & Wound: https://windupwatchshop.com/collections/straps Barton: https://www.bartonwatchbands.com In Europe, there is Colareb in Italy, but I've found their quality and consistency to be iffy. There's also Di-Modell, who I think is from Germany. IIRC, they make all of Sinn's leather straps. |
