Ivan - for those of us who live in less rarefied air, any idea when the new Ref 7 and Ref 9 (no 'K') with the black ceramic tungsten drivers and WBT terminals will be in the U.S.?
Nice that the 9 has been updated to the same bass port treatment as the floor-standing models. Think that will be a big positive to an already excellent monitor.

Yes, another inquiring mind would like to know.

Running thru the spec's shows that, other than the new GS, the rest of the Reference line (the 'K' has been dropped) has been down-sized. The new 5 is about the same size as the previous 7K and the 8K has been dropped. The woofers have gone from 180mm to 174mm in the 5. The woofers in the 7 have gone from 170mm to 154mm. However, the weight has remained about the same and terminals up-graded to WBT and tweeter-trim applied across the line. The new sub is larger, being about a 24" cube weighing over 80#.

Also the prices for the respective models have gone down.
The "1" model went from $30K to $25K if I'm not mistaken.

Ivan said "Q1-24" is what he has been told.

Canton’s press release indicated they started shipping to US/Canada this past Thanksgiving.

The Reference 9 is a fair amount bigger and a bit heavier than the 9K. I'm curious if anyone has had a chance to listen to them in person. I definitely like the idea of the bottom port in my small listening room. Not that the rear port of my 9Ks are presenting a problem currently

As much as I'm enjoying my speaker journey since the 9Ks, it won't surprise me if I end up with a set of Ref 9s once they are readily available and I have an opportunity to read a couple of reviews of the new Ref line. I've missed the 9Ks. With the bottom porting they should be more easily placed (not that the 9K was difficult). But, considering Ivan's view of new SF line, I'll wait until I've received some 1st-hand feedback on the new Canton line.
