The Shunyata version is priced closely to another competing product with a similar design. The competing product has a bit of feedback from users who say their product has broken in use. I think this Shunyata outlet cover looks more robust.

I think their MSRP is on target in that it's on the low end of competing products from Furutech, Block Audio, and Cable Support Plate. I don't know of a less expensive option that isn't diy.

If one factors in the costs of development and production, e.g., the upfront costs of getting a custom mold made (and having a custom mold made is expensive), and then the costs of prototyping, manufacturing, inspection, packaging, logistics; that's all on the manufacturer's end of costs that have to be borne up-front. If one factors all that development and manufacturing cost in, plus a standard margin for the retailer, the retail price seems quite reasonable, to me.

What's that Furutech power cable support thingy cost? Something like $350? This costs 3.5X less.

Wonder if my WW Silver Electra 7 power cables will work with the Shunyata? As I'm running new, dedicated wiring to my system this would be nice to have. For me, $100 for something 'real' like this is not unreasonable.
