I listened to one the other day at the showroom of the local dealer in Hong Kong. 45 mins on the 352, 45 mins on the 7200 and another 20 mins on the 352. Now I'm really torn between the two.

The vocals on the 352 are really amazing, but the 7200 (and I assume 8900/9000) is faster, more precise and powerful probably due to the autoformer, not to mention it feels like a veil has been lifted when I switched from 352 to 7200 (but the "veil" is not necessarily a bad thing).

I'm a translator so when I work I mostly listen to instrumental music, but man the vocals on the 352 really was that good that it made me want to listen a little more.

I have the 252 and the 352. I love both and think both sound great. Currently my 352 is powering B&W 805s

Does anyone know how the preamp section in the MA252/MA352 compares to the new C8?

Would guess it was more the tube preamp section in the 352 you were hearing compared to the solid-state preamp in the 7200. Tubes are noted for their work with vocals while solid-state is generally faster.

May I ask you guys when you turn on your 352 from stand by. Does it have a small pop sound from speakers?
