How many times have you changed your Power Conditioner

Hey all.
Was watching this youtube video .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7ON3Wo0EKo

In all the upgrading I've done along the way in search of audio nirvana, Ive never changed my power conditioner.
I have 8 dedicated 20amp lines running directly from my electrical panel to my music room. I have a Bryston BIT20 which I purchased from Ivan...shocking how many times Ivan has given me a better price (including duties, shipping, currency exchange, etc) than my local dealer.

I thought there's no reason to upgrade as I have more than enough outlets to plugs components in to.

But after watching the Shunyata video and new technology, is there more music to be squeezed out?
Your thoughts...

Yes.

I am a true believer in the Shunyata regime...couldn't go back!

Masterlu 01-06-2023 04:41 PM

Too often; that is until I switched everything over to Shunyata.

Long ago in a galaxy far, far away I had a PS Audio PS300...until I purchased an original-version Shunyata conditioner (I still have it feeding my home-office system via a specially-terminated Venom NR power cord). Followed up with a used Shunyata Hydra 8 v.2 that feeds the living-room system and a new Shunyata Delta D6 conditioner that supplies the bedroom system, where I do my "serious" listening.

None of these systems runs off of a dedicated line, so mine's not an "apples-to-apples" comparison for your purposes. But in each instance--including the original-version's "smoking" of the PS300--the audible improvement in system output has been substantial, most notably in soundstage expansion, delineation, and dimensionality, tonal/timbral accuracy and definition, and dynamic scaling. The overall impact is a sonic presentation that's "freer" of the physical placement of the speakers.

FWIW.

Yes.

Shunyata Hydra 4->Hydra 8->Triton V1 (9years)-> Denali 6000/S v2->Everest. Done.

Adding a segmented Altaira system was the next big breakthrough, along with an Omega QR-s PC for the DAC, now the amazing Lumin P1.

I have two Bryson BIT15s (on dedicated lines) and they were great units but I went all in last year and purchased an Everest. My BIT15s are now used elsewhere in the house while the Shunyata Everest takes care of the main system! Shunyata is making amazing products with sound science to back things up. Do yourself a favor and talk to Ivan… you’ll thank us later!

Similar to Stephen: Shunyata Hydra>Triton>Denali T>Everest, and done.

dixon007 01-07-2023 03:23 PM

Furman Elite 15i -> Furman IT Reference 20i (used) -> PS Audio PP10, PP15 -> Shunyata Denali/S v2 -> Shunyata Everest.

Looks like some others have scaled the peaks of Denali and Everest...

Yes! For background, I had been listening to the BIT15s since I bought them new from Ivan maybe ten or twelve years ago… they performed admirably throughout but when I played music through the Shunyata Everest it was evident early on. I couldn’t really believe that it would be so much better but it was. Darker background easily first thing I noticed. No matter the track played the background seemed way more silent. Other things were being heard too such as more detail and improved bottom end. I’m super happy I own it and I think it would provide you with more happy listening too. I have a sigma power cable which isn’t cheap but it’s not the top of the line omega and I’m very satisfied with that arrangement for now… I’ll always wonder about the omega but all in good time - perhaps down the road I’ll be able to upgrade that.

As an aside, I’ve been so pleased and impressed with their approach, science, their testing and showing of actual benefits that when the Altaira came out I bought it without even hearing it. Every bit of equipment they’re putting out is just plain awesome! Caelin is swatting home run after home run lately.

Hope this helps.

Mitch

I remember the first time I heard an Everest in my system, and mind, I was using a Denali V2 at the time...

This emoticon sums it up perfectly...

Power conditioner journey from the 1990s forward (all were/are in primary system unless otherwise noted):

APC UPS (largest model)

Monster Power HTS3600, then HTS5100
(late 90s and early 2000s versions)

Shunyata Hydra8 (2) and Furman Elite 15PF
(Simultaneously, same large HT and 2ch system)

Furman Reference 20 and Furman Elite 15PF

Furman Reference 20i and Furman Elite 15PF

Balanced Power BPT 3.5 and Furman Elite 15PF

Tara Labs AD6C (2 on a secondary, AV system after HT sell-off)

PurePower 2000 and Exact Power EP20A

Bybee Stealth v3 and Exact Power EP20A

Isotek Evo3 TITAN and tethered Evo3 SIGMAS

Shunyata TRITON v3
then add...

Current (pun intended):

Shunyata TYPHON QR and TRITON v3
Added ALTAIRA SGS

Plan to add second ALTAIRA SGS soon and upgrade to Omega cables

Planning to add ALTAIRA CGS

Planning to add TYPHON T2 x2 (for amps and powered speakers)

No plan to move from TQR+Tv3 to Everest as that is a lateral move from my point of view, in case of a question...

crwilli 01-08-2023 09:12 AM

PS Audio PPP - P10 - Shunyata Denali 6000/s v2 - Everest + Altaira CGS.
