1/8 mini plugs.

How many of you use the 1/8 mini stereo plugs to power your system on and off my remote vs. manually turning them on and off?
My McIntosh MX-136 and both MC501's can be powered completely off, however my MC205 is alway's in standby mode. I was considering using the 1/8" plugs to power everything at once by remote. My gear is plugged into a Monster HDP2550 power conditioner. Everything is connected to it except my 501's (not sure if the conditioner can handle the power) there plugged directly into a wall outlet. I guess im concerned with a power surge or something while the amps are in standby mode. This is probably silly, any reason to be concerned about this? If i use the 1/8" plugs can I plug my 501's into my power conditioner without any problems? I know McIntosh builds in fail safe's Im just leaning toward caution.

I have to use them with the amount of amps I use.

I use the triggers as well -- however, if your concern is regarding surges -- the best advise is to get a whole house surge protector (TVSS). Money well spent and it provides piece of mind for not only your gear, but the other expensive items in the house ('fridge, freezer, hvac's, etc.).

1/8" stereo or mono plug?

Data cable, stereo or mono?

Does it matter?

Stereo (rat shack is a good source)

Rat shack was cheaper than bestest buy.

I use them for my system. One of the many features I like about Mc gear. I don't see why anyone wouldn't use them.
