Amazing review Joey. Eager to talk about it. Where was the demo? Grapevine Magnolia?
|
Also when you gonna sell me those Olympic 3’s?
|
Thanks, Joey!
A super helpful review. Kind of shocking that after 5 happy years with the 802D3--one of the best speakers anywhere--you're so quick to find their flaws. It also rings true. I've really enjoyed my 805D3, but I've always sensed they were a bit too bright, a bit too forward. I will look forward to my own comparison on the lower end of the line. Cheers! |
Great review Joey! I’m sure many D3 owners will be taking a closer look at the D4’s and at their bank accounts given the price increase…

Thank you for amazing review!
Me too, I put together my 804D4 today, and all day long was enjoying listening good music. I should write some review but first, I am bad in writing, second, there is not much to say, honestly- speakers produce amazing, magic warm realistic music. So glad I didn't buy D3 and patiently waited 2 years. Now I feel bad for my lovely CM9 S1 as looking for them new owner in exchange for some $$$, but I wouldn't listen to them anymore anyway |
Joey, this is a great review and I really enjoyed reading it! I will look at it again several times, for sure. I bought my first pair of B&w’s (802 series2?) back in 1994, (with money from my Mom after she passed away) and now have a pair of 800D3s-I enjoy them so much. They help me remember my Mom when I listen.
It will be fun to see what folks think of the 801 D4’s compared to the 800 D3s. So, don’t be sad, be happy that you made at least one other guy (me) not question his sanity when he is thinking about spending another several thousand $$ on yet another speaker upgrade! Thanks again for for taking the time to write such a thorough review. |
Now just trying to decide between walnut and black.
